Get organised before they go back to school.
Whether you are sad to see the end of summer holidays or can’t wait to get back to your routine, we have a range of things to do on your last week of the Summer Holidays to make it easier.
1. Spend some time in nature
Global News asked a range of experts their top tips for getting back to school, and one of the top tips was spending some more time outdoors. They refer to a 2010 study, which not only stimulates their brains and increases positivity but also promotes muscle fitness — a win-win in our books.
Try our bags to carry everything you need when out and about.
2. Get some culture
Spend the last few days getting their brains ready for learning with a few trips out – head to a museum, art gallery or even watch some classic films.
The science museum is one of our favourite places to head in the summer holidays for a bit of fun education.
3. Start going to bed earlier
Getting back to our routine is something everyone struggles with at the end of the holidays – we’ve got used to the extra time in the morning and in the evening to relax and take it easy. We try and start cutting in down 15 minutes at a time until we’re back to normal.
One way we love to get back into the bedtime routine is reading a book that you or your child loved reading. Read it together before bed and enjoy those last moments before they go back to school.
4. Try and get everything online.
We think we have all dreaded the school supplies shop. It’s a painful experience for everyone involved. This year we are determined to do as much online as possible and then head out for the bare minimum.
Also, always end it with a treat – ensure there is something for both of you at the end of finding shoes that are never right.
5. Get everything ready the night before
The final thing to keep in mind is to get everything ready the night before their first day. Pack the bags, get the uniforms ready and keep the stress down as much as possible.
