When looking at buying a scented candle, there are a couple of factors that you take into account.
- The scent – how beautiful does it smell?
- The quality – will the scent last?
However, for us, when we produce a candle, there is a lot of factors which go into making our candles both smell amazing and burn beautifully. An essential consideration is the type of wick we use.
A different wick for each fragrance
Did you know each of our fragrances has a different wick? We test each scent and size of candles with many different types of wicks to see, which will give us the best burn and release the fragrance evenly.
All our wicks are made from cotton and are lead-free. They’re then matched to the unique wax blend to try to eliminate any tunnelling or uneven burning in the candle.
Avoid uneven burning when you first burn.
As much as our wicks can do, the first burn you do is also essential. Ensure you have trimmed the wick to around 1cm and let it burn to make sure the wax melts to the edge. Our candle wax has a memory, so if you only allow a small bit to burn initially, it will burn unevenly throughout the rest of the candle’s life.

Herb Garden Scented Candle
Our herb garden scent is always a bestseller, with its fresh notes of pine, lavender and rosemary. It’s not only relaxing but also creates the aroma of a Victorian walled garden. We love it while taking a bath as the lavender is calming, and rosemary is proven to relieve stress.
Berry Garden
One of our upcoming fragrances, Berry Garden combines cassis and jasmine for a deep and comforting scent. We love it in the evening when jasmine is at it’s most active. Also, we’ve added a hint of musk to create a relaxing and warm fragrance.
