CREATE THE PERFECT ROMANTIC NIGHT IN FOR VALENTINE’S DAY
Valentine’s day is on the horizon, and we’re all busy here wondering what to do with our partners. After scouring the internet for ideas, we decided the best Valentines we ever had are nights in and came up with our favourite ways to create the perfect atmosphere with food, lighting and romantic fragrances.
1. Mood Lighting
When you’re trying to create a relaxing and romantic dinner, the last thing you need is the overhead lighting on full blast. We love using a few candles dotted around the room, with side lamps to create a great atmosphere, but so you can still see each other. If you don’t have side lamps in your dining area, why not bring them down from your bedside.
We love candles to add soft light that will always make you look great and make you feel all romantic.
2. Romantic Fragrances
It’s been proven that certain smells can evoke emotions and memories, so make sure the atmosphere is romantic and evokes wonderful memories you have together using our top romantic fragrances.
Black Pomegranate Candle
We love our black pomegranate fragrance for a night in, as the deep tones of pomegranate help create a relaxing environment. Also, the sandalwood helps reduce anxiety, so you’ll feel stress-free and relaxed.
Rose and Vanilla Fragrance
If you’re looking for something a little fresher, try our Flower Garden Diffuser, which combines the beautiful scents of rose and vanilla. We think these romantic fragrances sums up Valentine’s day perfectly.
Peach, Orange and Amber Essential Oils
Our No.42 signature candle is the perfect everything fragrance. It has beautiful fresh notes of peach and orange, combined with Amber for added depth. Therefore, it is the perfect candle to set a romantic mood.
3. Easy to Cook Dinner
There is nothing worse than trying to get a 3-course dinner out on the table in a short space of time. Cooking can be stressful, cover you in steam and take you away from the quality time you want.
We’re all about either making something, that can be kept warm, during the day and then just serving up at the right time or something that cooks within 15 minutes with very little prep.
Starters
If you love cheese, do a throwback to a Cheese Fondue. They’re perfect to share and easy to make. Cut bread and veg. Warm up cheese in a fondue set. That’s it.
Mains
Steak has become a traditional main for Valentine’s day, as it only takes a few minutes to cook and can be served with pretty much anything. So, we tried James Martin’s Steak and Watercress Salad with Beer Mustard. Everything apart from the steak can be made in advance too.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a great vegetarian or vegan Valentine’s alternative Nigella has created a warm spicy cauliflower dish with pomegranate. The spices are sure to get the romance going.
If cooking isn’t your thing, order your favourite takeaway. Easy and delicious.
4. Delicious Desserts
There is nothing better than a dessert to round off your evening. If you’re a particularly good chef, then crack out a souffle. James Martin has created a delicious Pistachio and Chocolate one, which sounds divine.
If you’re a mere mortal like us, then I love the range of Pots of Co. Desserts. As someone who loves Chocolate, their Molten Chocolate Fudge Pudding goes down a treat. Plus they come in gorgeous ramekins you can keep afterwards.
5. Enjoy time together.
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself about what you’re going to do for Valentines, it’s more about the moments you create together, and whatever you do, they’ll still love you. Valentine’s Day is a reminder to take some time together not to stress yourself out. Our romantic fragrances Black Pomegranate uses Patchouli and Sandalwood to help you relax and enjoy the moment.
