Why Jaab Cards?
One of our favourites is Jaab Cards based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Their story is a very personal one. Judith Ong set up Jaab Cards in 2004. It’s a tribute to her mother, who was lost to breast cancer while Judith and her siblings were still in school.
As she has built her business, she contributes to a Breast Cancer Outreach Project in Thailand to help educate, screen and treat underprivileged women. It’s an essential part of who she is to support a cause and honour the memory of her mother.
The team
All the staff are women often come from harsh existences and are provided with full time-employment, fair trade terms and benefits. They hand traditionally make each card in a safe environment filled with laughter.
Knowing the story behind the business and how it treats the team, was really important to us when choosing them as a supplier. We loved the great spirit and ethos of them as a company.
The Cards
We hand-pick all the cards that come to us. Also, we love that each one is hand-made by someone who has been trained and given a great working environment. Judith is truly inspirational to us.
