A little about Melanie, the owner of All About Eve at Home
Melanie is the owner of All About Eve at Home and develops all of our scented candles. She opened her 1st shop in the lovely town of Old Amersham in 2009, having previously worked as a Buyer for Harrods for 17 years and as a Product Developer at The White Company for five years.
Her love for candles first came in 1994, from walking past the newly opened Jo Malone store in Sloane Street, on her way home from Harrods and getting a waft of the most delicious fragrances. This love of candles flourished when she was involved in the development of the Home Fragrance ranges at The White Company. As a result, she found a real passion and flair for creating beautiful fragrances.
When the opportunity to open her first shop came, Melanie knew she wanted to create an “emporium of gorgeous gifts” at great prices. The shop sells a carefully curated selection of luxury Fashion and Home Accessories, all personally chosen by Melanie. She tried to source candles that she loved at an affordable price, but couldn’t find anything she loved and so the first All About Eve candle was created! There are now 11 fragrances within the range and a few in development for launch later in the year.
How our we make our scented candles
Each new fragrance takes four to six months to develop from initial idea to completed product. Melanie works with UK Fragrance house to develop the fragrance, choosing each oil. All the oils we use are high-quality, and we use a higher percentage than most other candle manufacturers.
Each candle fragrance has approximately ten different scents within that are all balanced for a perfect fragrance in your home.
Finally, a UK candle manufacturer tests the fragrance to ensure they comply with UK safety regulations before they’re produced and packaged. The oils are evenly distributed throughout the candle wax, so the scent lasts from start to finish.
She now has developed 11 unique fragrances. Each fragrance evokes different memories of holidays, special moments and seasons of the year. Plus, she has since expanded her range to reed diffusers, room sprays and Eau de toilettes in her fragrances.
